Part 1:

Test & Measurement

The goals for this lab are to become familiar with lab test equipment. To generate and measure sine waves. Also, to become familiar with amplitude modulation, and generate and measure an AM signal.

Part 2:

Common-Emitter Amplifier

The goals for this lab are to become familiar with gain / bandwidth, and a CE amplifier. Also, the goals are to familiar with LTspice and use it to analyze the CE amplifier circuit. Lastly, to breadboard and test a CE amplifier circuit

Part 3:

Audio

Amplifier

The goals of this lab are to become familiar with, analyze, and construct different audio amplifiers. Some of the different types include Common-collector (CC) amp, CE-CC two stage amp, Class AB push-pull amp, and CE-class AB two stage amp. The student will construct the circuits and perform test on them.

Part 4:

AM

Detector

The goals of this lab are to understand simple, and biased diode detector circuits and analyze them with LTspice. The student will also learn how to analyze a complementary feedback pair (CFP) detector with LTspice.

Part 5:

RF

Amplifier

The goals of this lab are to construct the common source FET amplifier, adding an RF Choke (RFC), and a two-stage CS+CE amp. The student will be measuring the Q point and gain for different load resistor values. The student will conclude the lab by constructing their full radio.

Part 6:

Square Loop

Antenna

The goals of this lab are to design and construct a square loop antenna, as well as tune it for optimum reception. This is the final step for the radio that the student has spent the entire semester building and perfecting.
